BioI'm German born and bred, living now in England and doing what I like best, namely studying for a Phd in Performance Studies using Shakespeare's plays as test-cases. I'd like to find out what is left over from his original texts when they are performed in contemporary Europe in various theatrical media (by which I mean normal spoken performances, musicals, operas, ballets, translated versions etc.). My latest passion (or rather obsession by now =) ) is the Hungarian version of "Roméo et Juliette, de la haine à l'amour" and especially Szábo Szilveszter's Tybalt.
My other great passion is translating and so I'm very happy to be involved in a project by an American publisher, specializing in my most favourite German author whom I loved since I was about 11 (but he's by no means an author solely for children, quite the contrary in fact).
If you like to know more, just ask! I only discovered the LJ-world recently, so am not very sure about how to manage a journal etc etc. but will keep building up on what I know already.
